Support HUGS this May for Mental Health Awareness Month
SAVANNAH, GA — Since its inception in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month has been a cornerstone of addressing the challenges faced by millions of Americans living with mental health conditions. This year, Heads-Up Guidance Services (HUGS) has partnered with several businesses to raise awareness and support for mental health services in the Savannah-Chatham and surrounding areas.
All proceeds from various events will benefit HUGS, a local non-profit organization that provides affordable and accessible professional mental health counseling and addiction recovery services to children, adults, and families.
“We hope that locals will rally around these events to not only shine a light on mental health, but also to support HUGS’ devoted volunteer counselors who donate their time pro-bono to serve the Savannah community, and our dedicated clients” explained HUGS founder and CEO, Andrea Mamalakis Epting. “Since HUGS does not work with third parties for funding, we count on our citizens to support HUGS’ in its efforts to combat the mental health crisis in our local community”.
